ABRSM AURAL TRAINING - GRADE 4/5
ABRSM MUSICIANSHIP COURSE AURAL TRAINING - Grade 4/5 (Intermediate+)
As you will no doubt already be aware, the Aural/Listening/Musicanship test that comes at the end of an ABRSM exam, is worth a full 18 marks to the student.
This often does (and has been proven historically here) make the difference between Grade Boundaries; Distinction, Merit, Pass etc…,
The test is also the only part of the exam that the students do not spend at the piano.
We believe (with experience) that there is no reason each piano candidate should not be able to take the full 18 marks that the test worth.
However, at Grade 4 onwards, this element at least doubles in difficulty, calling on a much greater range of listening and musicianship.
Therefore we’ve bought in the suitable materials and training exercises to be able to deliver annually, to students who are in this category, and are or may take appropriate exams, so that they are equipped with the tools to be successful.
We've also ran this course this time last year, with success in exams for all students who took part in the 12 months that followed.
This year the course will run on the morning of Sunday 20th May 2018 from 10am-12.30pm. There’ll be a short interval in the middle, covering the first two elements before the break, and the remaining two after.
Each student will receive everything they need for the day when they get here, and will take home the materials to keep, as well as a CD of exercises designed to help through the next grades, that they can use as practise/revision later on.
There needs to be a minimum of 4 to make this work, as: Several the tasks require group work. It’s less daunting for the students in a more ‘class-based’ group, as they can do the exercises together.
It has to be financially viable However there is a maximum of 6.
The cost is £28.50 inclusive.
